     George Dawnay was the son of John Dawnay and Elizabeth Hutton.2 He died circa April 1639, unmarried.1 He was buried on 19 April 1639.1

     Sir Christopher Dawnay, 1st Bt. was the son of John Dawnay and Elizabeth Hutton.2 He married Jane Moseley, daughter of Thomas Moseley.1 He died on 13 July 1644.1
     He was created 1st Baronet Dawnay, of Cowick, co. Yorks [England] on 19 May 1642.1

     Jane Moseley is the daughter of Thomas Moseley.1 She married Sir Christopher Dawnay, 1st Bt., son of John Dawnay and Elizabeth Hutton.1
     Her married name became Dawnay.

     Sir Thomas Dawnay, 2nd Bt. was the son of Sir Christopher Dawnay, 1st Bt. and Jane Moseley.2 He died after 1644, in infancy.1
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Dawnay, of Cowick, co. Yorks [E., 1642] on 13 July 1644.1

Sir John Dawnay, 1st Viscount Downe1

     Sir John Dawnay, 1st Viscount Downe was baptised on 25 January 1624/25.1 He was the son of John Dawnay and Elizabeth Hutton.2 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Melton, daughter of Sir John Melton, on 4 August 1645.1 He married, secondly, Dorothy Johnson, daughter of William Johnson, on 14 May 1663.1 He died on 1 October 1695 at age 70.1
     He was appointed Knight in 1660.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Yorkshire in 1660.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Pontefract between 1661 and 1681.1 He was created 1st Viscount Downe [Ireland] on 19 February 1680/81.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Pontefract between 1685 and 1687.1 In 1689 he was attainted by King James II's Irish Parliament.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Pontefract from 1689 to 1690.1

     Elizabeth Melton was the daughter of Sir John Melton.2 She married Sir John Dawnay, 1st Viscount Downe, son of John Dawnay and Elizabeth Hutton, on 4 August 1645.1 She died on 21 February 1662.1
     From 4 August 1645, her married name became Dawnay.

Henry Dawnay, 2nd Viscount Downe1

     Henry Dawnay, 2nd Viscount Downe was baptised on 7 June 1664.1 He was the son of Sir John Dawnay, 1st Viscount Downe and Dorothy Johnson.2 He married Mildred Godfrey, daughter of William Godfrey, on 29 September 1685.1 He died circa May 1741.1 He was buried on 21 May 1741.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Pontefract between 1690 and 1695.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount Downe [I., 1681] on 1 October 1695.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Yorkshire between 1698 and 1700.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Yorkshire between 1707 and 1727.1

     Mildred Godfrey was the daughter of William Godfrey.2 She married Henry Dawnay, 2nd Viscount Downe, son of Sir John Dawnay, 1st Viscount Downe and Dorothy Johnson, on 29 September 1685.1 She died in August 1725.1
     From 29 September 1685, her married name became Dawnay. After her marriage, Mildred Godfrey was styled as Viscountess Downe on 1 October 1695.
