     Alexander Cosbie was the son of Francis Cosbie and Lady Mary Seymour.2 He married Dorcas Sydney, daughter of William Sydney. He died on 19 May 1596, killed in action.
     He lived at Stradbally Abbey, County Laios, IrelandG.1 He obtained very extensive grants of lands in Queen's County.1 He fought in the Battle of Stradbally Bridge on 19 May 1596.1

     John Cosbie was born circa 1482.2 He was the son of Robert Cossebye and Isabella Pare.2 He married Mabel Agard, daughter of Ralph Agard and Elizabeth Hussey, in 1507 at Great Leake, Nottinghamshire, England.2 He died in 1520.2
     He was educated at Great Leake, Nottinghamshire, England.3

     Dorcas Sydney was the daughter of William Sydney.1 She married, firstly, Alexander Cosbie, son of Francis Cosbie and Lady Mary Seymour. She married, secondly, Sir Thomas Cooch after 1596.1 She died in 1606.1
     She was Maid of Honour to Queen Elizabeth I.1 Her married name became Cosbie. From after 1596, her married name became Cooch.1

Francis Cosbie1

     Francis Cosbie was the son of Alexander Cosbie and Dorcas Sydney.2 He married Helen Hartpole, daughter of Robert Hartpole.1 He died on 19 May 1596, killed in action, several minutes after his father.
     He never enjoyed his inheritance.1 He was Captain of the Kerne.1 He lived at Stradbally Hall, County Laois, IrelandG.3 He fought in the Battle of Stradbally Bridge on 19 May 1596.1
