John Darby1

     John Darby was the son of Edmund Darby.2 He married Finola O'Carroll O'Carroll, daughter of William Odhar O'Carroll, after 1557.1 He died in 1608.1
     He gained the rank of Captain of Horse in the Earl of Sussex's army, at the siege of the O'Carroll stronghold of Leim O'Bannon ('The Leap of O'Bannon').1 He lived at Leap Castle, County Offaly, IrelandG.1

     William Odhar O'Carroll was born circa 1530.2 He was the son of Fearganainm O'Carroll and Margaret O'Brien.2 He died in 1581.2

     He lived at Leap Castle, County Offaly, IrelandG.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of King's County in 1674.1 His last will was dated 6 March 1685.3
