Rear-Admiral Richard Hare was born on 25 August 1836. He was the son of William Hare, 2nd Earl of Listowel and Maria Augusta Windham. He married Caroline Acland Pinder, daughter of Captain George Rideout Pinder, on 16 July 1874. He died on 16 July 1903 at age 66.

Lady Augusta Maria Hare was born on 31 May 1832.2 She was the daughter of William Hare, 2nd Earl of Listowel and Maria Augusta Windham.1 She married Granville Leveson Proby, 4th Earl of Carysfort, son of Admiral Granville Leveson Proby, 3rd Earl of Carysfort and Isabella Howard, on 19 July 1853.1 She died on 24 March 1881 at age 48 at 13 Grosvenor Crescent, London, England.2 Her will was probated on 9 May 1881, at under £70,000.2
Her married name became Proby. As a result of her marriage, Lady Augusta Maria Hare was styled as Countess of Carysfort on 3 November 1868.

Hugh Proby was born on 9 April 1826 at Stamford, Lincolnshire, England.1 He was the son of Admiral Granville Leveson Proby, 3rd Earl of Carysfort and Isabella Howard. He died on 30 August 1852 at age 26 at Willochra Creek, South Australia, Australia, drowned while droving a herd of cattle.2
