Reverend Alexander Hugh Gage was born on 29 January 1872.1 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. Ezekiel Gage and Maria Dobbs.2 He married Violet Agnes Evangeline Courtney Blake, daughter of Colonel C. J. Blake, on 3 February 1909.1 He died in January 1940.1
He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, in 1897 with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He gained the rank of Chaplain between 1900 and 1916 in the service of the Royal Navy.1 He lived at Rathin Island, County Antrim, Ireland.1
