Desmond Patrick Trench was born on 14 July 1893.1 He was the son of Frederick Herbert Trench and Lilian Isabel Fox.1 He married, firstly, Elfrida Mary Eliott Young, daughter of Rev. Canon Daniel Eliot Young, in 1916.1 He married, secondly, Hilda Olive Akhurst, daughter of Alfred Arthur John Akhurst, on 15 April 1947.1 He died on 5 December 1967 at age 74.1
