     Jacob Elton is the son of Isaac Elton and Ann Tierney.2 He married, secondly, Maria Bayfield.2 He married, firstly, Charlotte Young, daughter of Admiral James Young, on 13 May 1799.1
     From May 1798 to 1800 he was taken prisoner and held at Forte de Scaope, Ostend, for two years.1 He lived at Dedham, Essex, EnglandG.1 At Bristol, EnglandG, (an unknown value.)1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 11th Foot.1

     James Frederick Elton was born in 1810.1 He was the son of Jacob Elton and Charlotte Young.2 He married Charlotte Young, daughter of Rear-Admiral James Young, on 9 July 1835.1 He died on 30 October 1844.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 40th Foot.1 He lived at Nailsworth, Gloucestershire, EnglandG.1
