     Walter Scott is the son of George Scott and unknown daughter Scott.1 He married Marjorie Cockburn, daughter of William Cockburn of Henderson.2
      Married 2nd Margaret, daughter of James Riddell of that Ilk, and by her had, with three younger sons (William, of Huntly.2 James, of Satchels, ancestor of the SCOTTs OF SATCHELS.2 Thomas, of Whitehaughbrae) and eight daughters, an eldest son (2nd in all).2 He was mentioned in the writs of the family in 1487. He flourished in the reign of James IV.1 He lived Synton.2 Selkirkshire.2

Robert Scott1

     Robert Scott was the son of Walter Scott and Marjorie Cockburn.1,2 He married unknown wife (?).1 He died in 1509.1
      He was designated of Strickshaws during his father's lifetime. He was murdered by Andrew Crosser in 1509, at which time he was described as Robert Scott of Sinton.1 OF STIRCHES.3 On 3 January 1501 had charter of the lands of Harden.3 In 1720 ancestor of the SCOTTs OF SYNTON (extinct )) and a youngest son (David, living 9 May 1526).3

     Walter Scott is the son of Robert Scott and unknown wife (?).1 He married unknown daughter Cockburn.1 He married Margaret Riddell, daughter of James Riddell.1
      He is variously described on bonds - sometimes as of Sinton and sometimes as of Strickshaws. It is probable that this Laird married first a daughter of Cockburn of Ormiston, who at that time was proprieter of Whitslaid, and according to Mr. Scott (the author of Scott 1118 to 1923) it is clear that there was one son only by this marriage and his name was John.

Old Sinton married again.1

William Scott, 1st of Harden1

     William Scott, 1st of Harden was the son of Robert Scott and unknown wife (?).1 He married unknown daughter Chisholm.1 He married unknown daughter Ker, daughter of unknown Ker of Fernielee.1 He died in February 1561.2
      In 1535 he obtained the lands and barony of Harden, Highchesters, Toderick, Wester Essenside, Burnfoot, and Shielswood from his brother, and is the 1st Laird of Harden so designated. Probably died at Toderick.1 He lived on 25 May 1535 which had charter from his brother Walter (confirmed by Lord Home ).2
