     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Royal Horse Guards.¹ He was decorated with the award of the Military Cross (M.C.).¹

     Yvonne Ann Tomes was the daughter of T. Phillips Tomes.¹ She married Major Alan Wroughton Wentworth Stanley, son of Major Alan Sidney Wentworth Stanley and Lillian Charlotte Anderson, in 1922.¹ She died on 29 April 1952.¹
      From 1922, her married name became Stanley.¹

     Sidney Edward Wentworth Stanley was born in January 1892.¹ He was the son of Major Alan Sidney Wentworth Stanley and Lillian Charlotte Anderson.¹ He died circa 1893, in infancy.¹

     Captain Herbert Foster Wentworth Stanley was born on 2 July 1863.¹ He was the son of Sidney Stanley and Sara Foster.¹ He died on 28 April 1900 at age 36 at Bloemfontein, Orange Free State, South Africa, from wounds received in action.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 9th Lancers.¹ He fought in the Boer War.¹

     Guy Wentworth Stanley was born on 21 July 1867.¹ He was the son of Sidney Stanley and Sara Foster.¹ He died on 22 January 1900 at age 32.¹

     Helen Maud Anderson was the daughter of Musgrave Wroughton Anderson and Charlotte Miller.¹ She married Major Sir Charles Wentworth-Stanley, son of Sidney Stanley and Sara Foster, on 17 December 1890.¹ She died on 21 June 1943.¹
      From 17 December 1890, her married name became Wentworth-Stanley.¹
