William Forbes of Menie and Craigievar1

     William Forbes of Menie and Craigievar was the son of William Forbes of Corse and Elizabeth Strachan.2 He married Margaret Udward, daughter of Nicol Udward.1 He died in December 1627.1
      He made a fortune in trade overseas when younger.1 In 1610 he bought Craigievar from John Mortimer and of which he completed the construction started by Mortimer.1
