     Sir John Gibbons, 4th Bt. was born on 8 January 1774.1 He was the son of Sir William Gibbons, 3rd Bt. and Rebecca Watson.2 He married Elizabeth Tayler, daughter of Richard Tayler, on 27 October 1795.1 He died on 26 March 1844 at age 70.1
     He succeeded to the title of 4th Baronet Gibbons, of Stanwell Place, Middlesex [G.B., 1752] on 26 November 1814.3

     He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Army.1 He fought in the Battle of Albuera on 16 May 1811.1
