     John Houstoun was born on 31 August 1744 at St. George's Parish, Waynesboro, Georgia, U.S.A.1 He was the son of Sir Patrick Houstoun, 5th Bt. and Priscilla Dunbar.1 He died on 20 July 1796 at age 51.1
     He was a practising lawyer at Savannah, Georgia, U.S.A.1 He was a delegate for Georgia in the Continental Congress in 1775.1 He held the office of Mayor of Savannah, Georgia.1 He held the office of Governor of Georgia in 1778.1 He held the office of Governor of Georgia between 1784 and 1785.1

     James Houstoun was the son of Sir Patrick Houstoun, 5th Bt. and Priscilla Dunbar.1 He married Eliza Cook in 1775.1
     He gained the rank of Surgeon in the Continental Army.1

     Jessie McLeod was the daughter of unknown McLeod of Colbecks.2 She married Sir Archibald Grant of Monymusk, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Archibald Grant of Monymusk, 2nd Bt. and Anne Potts, on 8 August 1794.1 She died on 24 October 1836, without issue.1
     From 8 August 1794, her married name became Grant.1

     Mary Douglas was the daughter of Captain Henry Sholto Douglas.2 She married Sir Arthur Henry Grant of Monymusk, 9th Bt., son of Commander Arthur Grant and Eliza Coster, on 10 October 1878.1 She died on 20 February 1926.1
     From 10 October 1878, her married name became Grant.

     Lt.-Col. William Douglas Grant was born on 31 August 1880.1 He was the son of Sir Arthur Henry Grant of Monymusk, 9th Bt. and Mary Douglas.2 He married Frances Louise Male, daughter of W. H. Male, on 10 December 1910.1 He died on 9 June 1953 at age 72.1
     He fought in the Boer War.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 1st Royal Dragoons.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the 2nd/1st Yorkshire Dragoons.1
