     He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1918.1 He was awarded the Order of Leopold of Belgium.1

     Francis Edward Guise was born on 20 April 1820.1 He was the son of General Sir John Wright Guise, 3rd Bt. and Charlotte Diana Vernon.2 He married Henrietta Carnac, daughter of Sir James Rivett Carnac, 1st Bt., on 13 June 1848.1 He died on 20 January 1893 at age 72.1
     He graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was Clerk of the Peace for Gloucestershire.1 He was a practising barrister.1 He held the office of Recorder of Hereford.1

     Henrietta Carnac was the daughter of Sir James Rivett Carnac, 1st Bt.2 She married Francis Edward Guise, son of General Sir John Wright Guise, 3rd Bt. and Charlotte Diana Vernon, on 13 June 1848.1 She died on 17 December 1897.1
     From 13 June 1848, her married name became Guise.

     Rivett Francis Guise was born on 24 April 1853.1 He was the son of Francis Edward Guise and Henrietta Carnac.2 He married, firstly, Mary Deare, daughter of W. Deare, in 1881.1 He married, secondly, Mary Eliza Maud Boissier, daughter of Major John William Boissier, in 1888.1 He died on 3 January 1908 at age 54.1
     He was with the Bengal Police.1
