     Margaret Maude Ethelston was the daughter of Robert Peel Ethelston.² She married Reverend Hugh Hanmer, son of Reverend Henry Hanmer and Sybella Elizabeth Gordon, on 22 August 1894.¹ She died on 19 October 1943.¹

     G/Capt. Robert Hugh Hanmer was born on 25 August 1895.¹ He was the son of Reverend Hugh Hanmer and Margaret Maude Ethelston.² He married Mary Helen Spens, daughter of Nathaniel Spens, on 19 December 1922.¹ He died on 18 January 1971 at age 75.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the Royal Welch Fusiliers.¹ He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches and was wounded.¹ He was decorated with the award of the Military Cross (M.C.).¹ He gained the rank of Group Captain in the service of the Royal Air Force.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He was invested as a Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1944.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Shropshire in 1952.¹

     Mary Helen Spens was the daughter of Nathaniel Spens.² She married G/Capt. Robert Hugh Hanmer, son of Reverend Hugh Hanmer and Margaret Maude Ethelston, on 19 December 1922.¹ She died on 19 September 1945.¹
      From 19 December 1922, her married name became Hanmer.

     Hugh Niel Hanmer was born on 23 April 1926.¹ He is the son of G/Capt. Robert Hugh Hanmer and Mary Helen Spens.² He married Diana MacGeagh Hurst, daughter of Robert J. MacGeagh Hurst, on 22 August 1953.¹
     He graduated from Corpus Christi College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).¹ He lived in 2003 at Fontevrault, Letcombe Regis, Oxfordshire, England.¹
