     He was given the name of John Charles Maunsell at birth.1 He was educated at Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, Devon, EnglandG.1 His name was legally changed to John Charles Dymock-Maunsell by Deed Poll.1 He retired from the military in 1961, with the rank of Lieutenant-Commander, late of the Royal Navy.1 He was member of the London Stock Exchange.1 He lived in 1976 at Endway Cottage, Fir Grange Avenue, Weybridge, Surrey, EnglandG.1
