     Robert Algernon Persse was born on 14 June 1845.1 He was the son of Dudley Persse and Frances Barry.2 He married Hon. Eleanor Laura Jane Gough, daughter of George Stephens Gough, 2nd Viscount Gough of Goojerat and Jane Arbuthnot, on 29 July 1886.1 He died on 25 May 1911 at age 65.1
     He held the office of High Sheriff of County Galway in 1885.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Galway.1 He lived at Creg Clare, County Galway, IrelandG.1

Eleanor Laura Jane Gough was born on 13 October 1854.2 She was the daughter of George Stephens Gough, 2nd Viscount Gough of Goojerat and Jane Arbuthnot.3,4 She married Robert Algernon Persse, son of Dudley Persse and Frances Barry, on 29 July 1886.1 She died on 21 February 1935 at age 80.1
     From 29 July 1886, her married name became Persse.4

     Rodolph Algernon Persse was born on 12 May 1892.1 He was the son of Robert Algernon Persse and Hon. Eleanor Laura Jane Gough.2 He died on 1 January 1915 at age 22 at Cuinchy, Pas de Calais, France, killed in action following a night attack.3
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the Rifle Brigade, attached to 2nd Battalion, King's Royal Rifle Corps.4
