     Alois Maria Joseph Alexander Prinz von Auersperg was born on 26 October 1897 at Weitwörth. He was the son of Eduard Severin Maria Prinz von Auersperg and Maria Prinzessin von Schönburg-Hartenstein. He married Henriette Gräfin Larisch von Moennich, daughter of Friedrich Graf Larisch von Moennich and Marie Gräfin von Beroldingen, on 25 February 1933 at Salzburg, Austria. He died on 6 September 1984 at age 86 at Salzburg, Austria.
