Sidney Francis Godolphin Osborne was born on 29 March 1835. He was the son of Rev. Hon. Sydney Godolphin Osborne and Emily Charlotte Grenfell. He married Margaret Dulcibella Hammersley, daughter of Hugh Hammersley, on 13 January 1883. He died on 22 October 1903 at age 68.
