Sir Thomas Isaac Birkin, 1st Bt. was born on 15 February 1831 at New Basford, Nottinghamshire, England.2,3 He was the son of Richard Birkin and Mary Anne Walker.2 He married Harriet Tebbutt, daughter of Matthew Tebbutt and Mary Anne Clarke, on 9 October 1856.2 He died on 16 January 1922 at age 90.
