George Lester Stuart Donaldson

     George Lester Stuart Donaldson was born on 11 February 1879 at Echuca, Victoria, Australia.1 He was the son of Lester Stuart Donaldson and Adelaide Miriam Günther.2 He married Maud Claribel Garrick on 8 January 1918 at Christchurch, New Zealand. He died on 24 July 1943 at age 64 at Christchurch, New Zealand.3
     
On 15 March 1918, The Times published a list of honours “in connexion with the war” under the headings ‘The Dominions In The War. Services Rewarded’. George Lester Donaldson Esq., was among a list of New Zealanders awarded Member of the Order of the British Empire.

The New Zealand newspaper, The Poverty Bay Herald, reported on 18 March 1918 that Geo. Lester Donaldson, of Christchurch, had been made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in a list of honours awarded “for services in connection with the war”.

Reported living in Christchurch, New Zealand, at the time of his father’s death in 1924. Described as having an MBE.4,5,6

     Maud Claribel Garrick married Charles Mahoney Parker. She married George Lester Stuart Donaldson, son of Lester Stuart Donaldson and Adelaide Miriam Günther, on 8 January 1918 at Christchurch, New Zealand.
      Her married name became Parker. From 8 January 1918, her married name became Donaldson.

     Charles Mahoney Parker was born circa 1882 at Dunedin, New Zealand.1 He married Maud Claribel Garrick. He died on 27 March 1917 at Christchurch, New Zealand.1 He was buried on 28 March 1917 at Linwood Cemetery, Christchurch, New Zealand, block number 45, plot number 174.1

     Caroline Graham is the daughter of Sir Bellingham Graham, 6th Bt. and Priscilla Whitworth.1 She married Algernon Grenville in December 1813.1
      From December 1813, her married name became Grenville.1
