     He was the Rector at Honiton, Devon, England.1 He held the office of Prebendary of Exeter.1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.)1

     Dorothy Filmer was the daughter of Sir Edward Filmer, 3rd Bt. and Mary Wallis.2 She married Sir John Honywood, 3rd Bt., son of William Honywood and Frances Raleigh, in 1742.1 She died on 8 October 1781.1
     From 1742, her married name became Honywood.
