     Gerald Arthur Hervey was born in 1881.1 He was the son of George Henry William Hervey and Mary Cole.1 He married Dorothy Symes, daughter of Alfred Symes, on 14 August 1912.1 He died on 8 August 1917 at Flanders, Belgium, killed in action.1
     Gerald Arthur Hervey graduated from Pembroke College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He fought in the First World War. He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the Royal Garrison Artillery.1
