     Alexander Kirkpatrick was the son of Roger Kirkpatrick and Margaret (?).² He died on 9 June 1686.¹
      De Teba, and was mother of EUGENIE, wife of NAPOLEON III.¹ In 1484 granted lands and territorial Barony of Kirkmichael, Dumfriesshire, as reward for the capture of 9th Earl of Douglas at Burnswark.¹ Circa 1622 his great-grandson William, of Kirkmichael, sold part of his estates to Sir John Charteris.¹ He was his grandson Alexander, of Drumcondra (b ), settled nr Dublin and was ancestor of the KIRKPATRICKs of Coolmine, of Donacumper, County Kildare, and Craigs, County Antrim in 1714.¹ In 1737 William Kirkpatrick , of the Conheath branch of the family, had of 19 children a 3rd son, William (1764–1837), who was US Consul at Malaga 1800–18 and whose daughter Maria Manuela m 1819 Cipriano, Count de Montijo.¹

     Isabel Kirkpatrick is the son of Winfred Kirkpatrick.² He married Roger Grierson of Lagg.¹

     Roger Grierson of Lagg married Isabel Kirkpatrick, son of Winfred Kirkpatrick.¹

     Sir John de Maxwell was the son of Sir John de Maxwell.¹ He died after April 1373.¹

     Maria Maxwell is the daughter of Herbert Maxwell, 1st Lord Maxwell.² She married Thomas Kirkpatrick, son of Winfred Kirkpatrick and Roger Grierson of Lagg.¹
      Her married name became Kirkpatrick.

     Sir Thomas Kirkpatrick of Closeburn was the son of Thomas Kirkpatrick and Maria Maxwell.² He married Margaret Sinclair, daughter of unknown Sinclair of Rosslyn.¹ He died in 1515.¹
     He lived Closeburn.¹

     Margaret Sinclair is the daughter of unknown Sinclair of Rosslyn.² She married Sir Thomas Kirkpatrick of Closeburn, son of Thomas Kirkpatrick and Maria Maxwell.¹
      Her married name became Kirkpatrick.

     Thomas Kirkpatrick is the son of Sir Thomas Kirkpatrick of Closeburn and Margaret Sinclair.² He married Jonet Grierson, daughter of Roger Grierson (see Grierson.¹
     He lived Closeburn.¹ Between March 1541/42 and September 1542 captured by the English Battle of Solway.¹
