     Charles Kirkpatrick was born on 18 May 1879.1 He was the son of James Kirkpatrick and Margaret Jane Proctor.2 He married Elsie Isobel Fasson, daughter of Herbert John Hamilton Fasson, on 22 April 1909.1 He died on 23 January 1955 at age 75.1
     He was educated at Edinburgh Academy, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.1 He fought in the First World War, and he was mentioned in despatches four times.1 He gained the rank of Brevet Lieutenant-Colonel.1 He fought in the Waziristan Campaign between 1920 and 1923, and he was mentioned in despatches four times.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1922.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1924.1 He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM King George V between 1927 and 1930.1 He fought in the North-West Frontier in 1930.1 He gained the rank of Major-General in the Indian Army.1

     Air Vice-Marshal Herbert James Kirkpatrick was born on 30 October 1910.1 He was the son of Charles Kirkpatrick and Elsie Isobel Fasson.2 He married Pamela Evelyn Darvill Watson, daughter of Lt.-Col. Hugh Darvill Watson, on 7 August 1937.1 He died on 26 August 1977 at age 66.1
     He was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1932 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He fought in the Second World War, and he was mentioned in despatches twice.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (D.F.C.) in 1941.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1942 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1945.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1957.1 He gained the rank of Air Vice Marshal in the Royal Air Force.1
