     John Rutherfoord D'Olier-Lees was born on 17 September 1887.1 He was the son of John Cathcart Lees and Helen Campbell d'Olier.2 He married Margery Scott, daughter of Thomas H. Scott, on 16 August 1923.1 He died in 1972.1
     He was given the name of John Rutherfoord Lees at birth.2 He was educated at St. Paul's School, London, England.1 He was educated at University College London, London, England.1 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Engineers.1 He was registered as a Member, Institution of Civil Engineers (M.I.C.E.)2 In 1952 his name was legally changed to John Rutherfoord D'Olier-Lees by Deed Poll.2
