     Janet Payne Carlyle was the daughter of unknown Carlyle of Brydekirk and Brakenquhate.² She married Donald Macdonald, son of Donald Macdonald and Mary Maclean, on 12 August 1754.¹ She died on 29 December 1796.¹

     Helen Johnston was the daughter of Thomas Johnston of Underwood.² She married William Bell Macdonald 2nd of Rammerscales, son of Donald Macdonald and Mary Bell, on 23 March 1839.¹ She died in 1898.¹

     William Bell Macdonald 3rd of Rammerscales was born on 9 January 1845.¹ He was the son of William Bell Macdonald 2nd of Rammerscales and Helen Johnston.² He married Violet Frances Rutherford, daughter of James Buckley Rutherford, on 19 September 1882.¹ He died on 16 June 1923 at age 78.¹
     He was educated Cheltenham and Glasgow U.¹ He was Major 1st Regiment (Roy Scots).¹ 3rd of Rammerscales.¹

     Violet Frances Rutherford was the daughter of James Buckley Rutherford.² She married William Bell Macdonald 3rd of Rammerscales, son of William Bell Macdonald 2nd of Rammerscales and Helen Johnston, on 19 September 1882.¹ She died on 16 July 1933.¹
