     Douglas Melville Macnaghten was born on 14 March 1911.1 He was the son of Leslie Hay Macnaghten and Hilda Ethelind Barnes.2 He married Thecla Isabel Reid, daughter of John Mundell Reid and Thecla Isobel Cameron Stevenson, on 23 April 1946.1 He died on 18 December 2007 at age 96.3
     He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Army Service Corps.1 He fought in the Second World War between 1939 and 1945, in North Africa and Italy.1 He was with Spicer International.1 He lived in 2003 at Hill Brow, Beacon Hill Road, Ewshot, Surrey, EnglandG.1

     From 23 April 1946, her married name became Macnaghten.
