     Emily Augusta Mary Newlands was the daughter of Major Richard Bingham Newlands.2 She married Lt.-Col. Frederick Thomas Maitland, son of General Frederick Maitland and Catherine Prettyjohn, on 18 July 1842.1 She died on 12 April 1855.1
     From 18 July 1842, her married name became Maitland.

     Commander Frederick Maitland was born on 23 March 1848.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Frederick Thomas Maitland and Emily Augusta Mary Newlands.2 He married Elizabeth Ann Bennett, daughter of William Bennett, in 1887.1 He died on 9 April 1892 at age 44, without issue.1
     He gained the rank of Commander in the Royal Navy.1

     Major Reginald Paynter Maitland was born on 6 March 1851.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Frederick Thomas Maitland and Emily Augusta Mary Newlands.2 He married Ann Eliza Oldfield, daughter of Captain G. F. Oldfield, on 4 February 1875.1 He died on 10 April 1926 at age 75.1
     He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Artillery.1

     Lt.-Col. Reginald Charles Frederick Maitland was born on 10 October 1882.1 He was the son of Major Reginald Paynter Maitland and Ann Eliza Oldfield.2 He married Marjorie Agnes Jane Lane, daughter of Very Rev. Ernald Lane, on 2 December 1913.1 He died on 24 April 1939 at age 56.1
     He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1 He was awarded the Croix de Guerre.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Artillery.1
