     He fought in the Battle of Bologne in 1549.1

     Alexander 'Nan Cleas' Macdonald, 10th of Keppoch was the son of Ranald 'Og' MacDonald, 9th of Keppoch and unknown daughter Stewart.2 He married unknown daughter MacDougall, daughter of unknown MacDougall of Dunollie.1 He died in 1635.1
     ‘Of the Tricks.1' In 1591 he captured the castle of Inverness.1 In 1615 with the eldest son of Macdonald of Clanranald he assisted Sir James Macdonald of Islay to escape from Edinburgh Castle.1 In 1621 he was exiled in Spain until pardoned.1 He also had six daughters.1
