     Norman Alexander Nicolson is the son of John Norman Nicolson.2 He married Gladys Jane Lillias Lyne on 18 November 1918 at London, England.1
     He fought in the First World War.1 He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court on 9 July 1934.1

     Ian Roderick Macneil, 26th of Barra was born on 20 June 1929.1 He is the son of Robert Lister Macneil, 25th of Barra and Kathleen Metcalf.2 He married Nancy Carol Wilson, daughter of James Tilton Wilson, on 29 March 1952.1
     He was educated in 1950 at University of Vermont, Vermont, U.S.A.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant between 1951 and 1953 in the Infantry.2 He gained the rank of Major in the U.S.AR, Artillery.1 He graduated from Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, U.S.A.G, in 1955 with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.)1 He was admitted to New Hampshire Bar in 1956.1 He was member of law faculty between 1959 and 1972 at Cornell University, Ithaca, Tompkins County, New York, U.S.A.G.1 He was Professor of Law between 1972 and 1974 at University of Virginia Law School, Virginia, U.S.A.G.2 He was member of law faculty between 1974 and 1980 at Cornell University, Ithaca, Tompkins County, New York, U.S.A.1 He held the position of Chief of the Clan Niall from in 1987.1 He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court on 15 March 1987.1 He was member of the Standing Council of Scottish Chiefs.1 He lived in 2003 at Taigh a'Mhonaidh, Garrygall, Castlebay, Isle of Barra, ScotlandG.1
