Iain Macneil, 23rd of Barra was born on 5 July 1824.1 He was the son of Hector Edward Macneil, 22nd of Barra and Elizabeth Mercereau.2 He married Barbara Allen Humphrey, daughter of William Humphrey.1 He died on 15 December 1893 at age 69.1
