     Major George Pester Chappel was born in 1868 at Camborne, Cornwall, England.1 He was the son of Reverend William Pester Chappel and Susan Jane Rivington.1 He married Mary Emily Gaddum, daughter of Henry Theodore Gaddum and Emily Elizabeth Joynson, in 1903 at Bucklow, Cheshire, England.1 He died on 15 December 1923 at Altrincham, Cheshire, England, from pneumonia.1
     He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England.1 He graduated from Caius College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1892 with a Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.).1 He graduated from Caius College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1892 with a Bachelor of Surgery (B.Ch.).1 He graduated from London Hospital, London, England, in 1896 with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.).1 He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Royal Army Medical Corps.1 He was physician between 1918 and 1923 at Altrincham General Hospital, Altrincham, Cheshire, England.1
