     Stella Mary Layard was born on 11 June 1921.1 She is the daughter of Colonel Charles Peter Julius Layard and Mary Emily Morley.1 She married Major Richard Cecil Hayward, son of Major Cecil Richard Hayward, on 18 February 1948.1
     She was with the Auxiliary Territorial Service during the Second World War.1 From 18 February 1948, her married name became Hayward.1

     Major Richard Cecil Hayward is the son of Major Cecil Richard Hayward.1 He married Stella Mary Layard, daughter of Colonel Charles Peter Julius Layard and Mary Emily Morley, on 18 February 1948.1
     He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Dorset Yeomanry.1 He lived in 1972 at Toiler Whelme Manor, Beaminster, Dorset, England.1
