     He was educated at Wellington College, Wellington, Berkshire, England.1 He was Chief of Movements and Transportation Branch 6–4 Divivision, Supreme HQ, Allied Expeditionary Force between 1943 and 1945.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He was awarded the Chevalier, Ordre national de la Légion d'honneur.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.)1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1 He was awarded the Commander, U.S. Legion of Merit.1 He gained the rank of Major-General in the Royal Engineers.1

     He was educated at Wellington College, Wellington, Berkshire, England.1 He was Vice-Consul to Khoramshahr in 1939.1 He gained the rank of Major in the Indian Army and Indian Political Service.1 He was Secretary to Resident Eastern States Calcutta in 1946.1
