     Samuel Nesbitt was born on 15 July 1753.1 He is the son of Samuel Nisbett and Susanna Purkiss.2 He married Penelope Rodgers, daughter of William Rodgers, on 29 December 1790.1 He died in 1838.1
     He was given the name of Samuel Nisbett at birth.1 He was educated at St. Paul's School, London, England.1 He was Secretary of the Council of Bahamas.1

     Penelope Rodgers is the daughter of William Rodgers.2 She married Samuel Nesbitt, son of Samuel Nisbett and Susanna Purkiss, on 29 December 1790.1

Charles Rogers Nesbitt1

     Charles Rogers Nesbitt was born on 3 April 1799.1 He was the son of Samuel Nesbitt and Penelope Rodgers.2 He married, firstly, Mary D. Tucker.1 He married, secondly, Olivia Ann Johnson, daughter of Joseph Sears Johnson, in 1831.1 He died on 15 December 1876 at age 77.1 He was buried at St. Mary's Church, Nassau, Bahamas.
     He was Secretary of the Council of Bahamas.1 He held the office of Lieutenant-Governor of the Bahamas between 1838 and 1867.1

     Olivia Ann Johnson was the daughter of Joseph Sears Johnson.1 She married Charles Rogers Nesbitt, son of Samuel Nesbitt and Penelope Rodgers, in 1831.1 She died in 1894.1
     From 1831, her married name became Nesbitt. She lived after 1870 at St. Antonio, Texas, U.S.A.1
