     Charles Nugent Hope-Wallace was born on 3 February 1877. He was the son of John George Frederick Hope-Wallace and Mary Frances Bethune. He married Mabel Florence Chaplin, daughter of Colonel Allan Chaplin, on 12 January 1905. He died on 15 October 1953 at age 76.
