     Margaret Ann Scott was the daughter of James Scott and Elizabeth Thomson.2,1 She married James Reid, son of William Reid and Mary Miller, on 1 January 1851.1 She died on 28 August 1881.1
     From 1 January 1851, her married name became Reid.

James Reid1

     James Reid was born on 29 January 1858.1 He was the son of James Reid and Margaret Ann Scott.2 He died on 10 November 1882 at age 24, in a shooting accident.1

Sir Hugh Reid of Springburn, 1st Bt.1

     Sir Hugh Reid of Springburn, 1st Bt. was born on 9 February 1860.2 He is the son of James Reid and Margaret Ann Scott.2 He married Marion Maclune Bell, daughter of John Bell and Magdalene McAlister Shiels, on 8 August 1888.2 He died on 7 July 1935 at age 75.2
     He was registered as a Member, Institution of Civil Engineers (M.I.C.E.)2 He was chairman and managing director of the North British Locomotive Company.2 He was appointed Commander, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (C.St.J.)2 He was Brigadier of the Royal Company of Archers.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)2 He held the office of Lord Dean of the Guild of Glasgow between 1916 and 1918.2 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.)2 He was awarded the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Officers' Decoration (V.D.)2 He was created 1st Baronet Reid, of Springburn, co. Glasgow and Kilmaurs, co. Ayr [U.K.] on 26 January 1922.1 He was president of the Royal Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts between 1925 and 1929.2

Sir John Reid1

     Sir John Reid was born on 28 October 1861.1 He was the son of James Reid and Margaret Ann Scott.2 He married Annie Gourlay Macpherson, daughter of Henry Shaw Macpherson, on 12 October 1898.1 He died on 25 January 1933 at age 71.1
     In 1918 Knight.1 He was Director of the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce in 1921.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.) in 1925.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) forBute.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Glasgow.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1 He lived at Ardencraig, Bute, Scotland.1

     From 8 June 1927, her married name became Salvesen.
