     Captain Thomas Riddell was born after 1726. He was the son of Sir Walter Riddell of that Ilk, 5th Bt. and Jane Turnbull.2 He married Elizabeth Maclauchlan, daughter of Lauchlan Maclauchlan and Mary (?), in September 1766 at Saxham Hall, Suffolk, England.1 He died in 1805.3
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Honourable East India Company Service.3 He lived at Bessborough, Berwickshire, Scotland.1

Lauchlan Maclauchlan1

     Lauchlan Maclauchlan is the son of Lachlan McLachlan of Fassfern and Elizabeth Campbell.2 He married Mary (?)2 He died in 1768 at Jamaica.2
     He was also known as Lachlan McLachlan.2

     Elizabeth Maclauchlan is the daughter of Lauchlan Maclauchlan and Mary (?)2,3 She married Captain Thomas Riddell, son of Sir Walter Riddell of that Ilk, 5th Bt. and Jane Turnbull, in September 1766 at Saxham Hall, Suffolk, England.3
     She was also known as Elizabeth McLachlan.3 From September 1766, her married name became Riddell.3

     General Henry James Riddell was the son of Captain Thomas Riddell and Elizabeth Maclauchlan.2 He died on 8 March 1861.1
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the 6th Regiment.1 He was Knight, Hanoverian Order (K.H.)1 He fought in the Peninsular Wars.1

Jane Buchanan1

     Jane Buchanan was the daughter of James Buchanan.1 She married Sir John Riddell of that Ilk, 6th Bt., son of Sir Walter Riddell of that Ilk, 5th Bt. and Jane Turnbull, in 1762.1 She died on 24 February 1798.2
     From 1762, her married name became Riddell.

     Sir Walter Riddell of that Ilk, 7th Bt. was born in 1763.1,2 He was the son of Sir John Riddell of that Ilk, 6th Bt. and Jane Buchanan.3 He died on 7 February 1784 at Lauriston, Scotland.1,2
     He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Riddell, of Riddell, co. Roxburgh [N.S., 1628] on 16 April 1768.1

Sir James Buchanan Riddell of that Ilk, 8th Bt.1

     Sir James Buchanan Riddell of that Ilk, 8th Bt. was born in 1768.1 He was also reported to have been born in 1765.2 He was the son of Sir John Riddell of that Ilk, 6th Bt. and Jane Buchanan.3 He died on 4 September 1784 at Brunswick, Germany, unmarried, drowned while bathing.1,2 He died intestate and his estate was administered in July 1789.2
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 1st Foot Guards.1,2 He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Riddell, of Riddell, co. Roxburgh [N.S., 1628] on 7 February 1784.1 He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court on 20 March 1784.2

     Sir John Buchanan Riddell of that Ilk, 9th Bt. was born in 1768.2 He was the son of Sir John Riddell of that Ilk, 6th Bt. and Jane Buchanan.3 He married Lady Frances Marsham, daughter of Charles Marsham, 1st Earl of Romney and Lady Frances Wyndham, on 17 August 1805.1 He died on 21 April 1819 at Maidstone, Kent, England.1,4
     He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn on 27 May 1784.2 He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Riddell, of Riddell, co. Roxburgh [N.S., 1628] on 4 September 1784.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Linlithgow burghs between 1812 and 1819.1,2

     Jane Cooke Starkey Bankes was born in 1856 at Liverpool, Lancashire, England.1 She was the daughter of Meyrick Bankes and Eleanor Starkey.1 She married Isaac Speakman, son of Thomas Speakman, on 26 December 1878 at St. Catherine, Liverpool, Lancashire, England.1 She died in 1882 at Liverpool, Lancashire, England.1
     From 26 December 1878, her married name became Speakman.1
