John Andrew Shaw-Mackenzie of Tordarroch and 3rd of Newhall1

     John Andrew Shaw-Mackenzie of Tordarroch and 3rd of Newhall was born on 23 April 1797.1 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. John Shaw of Tordarroch, 11th Chief of Clan Ay and Anna Nesbitt.2 He married Elizabeth Gover.1 He died on 23 August 1886 at age 89, without issue.1
     He held the position of 17th Chief of the Clan Shaw from.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Ross and Cromarty.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Ross and Cromarty.1 He held the position of 12th Chief of the Clan Ay from.1 He was given the name of John Andrew Shaw at birth.1 He was with the Bombay Civil Service between 1817 and 1845.1 His name was legally changed to John Andrew Shaw-Mackenzie.1 In 1842 he was heir of entail in right of his paternal grandmother to the estate of Newhall hence added surname and arms of Mackenzie.1 He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court on 20 September 1857.1

     Alexander Nesbitt Shaw was the son of Maj.-Gen. John Shaw of Tordarroch, 11th Chief of Clan Ay and Anna Nesbitt.2 He married Georgiana Hodson, daughter of Reverend Frodsham Hodson.1 He died on 4 August 1872.1
     He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Ross and Cromarty.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Ross and Cromarty.1 He was with the Bombay Civil Service between 1821 and 1851.1
