     Margaret Skipwith was the daughter of Sir William Skipwith and Alice Dymoke.2 She married, firstly, George Tailboys, 2nd Baron Tailboys of Kyme, son of Gilbert Tailboys, 1st Baron Tailboys of Kyme and Elizabeth Blount, on 15 May 1539.1 She married, secondly, Sir Peter Carew on 20 February 1546.1 She married, thirdly, Sir John Clifton on 20 July 1579.1 She died on 6 May 1583.1
     From 15 May 1539, her married name became Tailboys.1 From 20 February 1546, her married name became Carew.1 From 20 July 1579, her married name became Clifton.1

     He gained the title of 2nd Lord Tailboys of kyme.1
