     Colonel Oliver Sutton-Nelthorpe was born on 5 June 1888.1 He was the son of Major Robert Nassau Sutton-Nelthorpe and Hon. Dulcibella Eden.2 He married Marjorie Elspeth Constable Curtis, daughter of Charles Constable Curtis and Edith Fanny Onslow, on 29 July 1914.1 He died on 25 May 1963 at age 74.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, London, England.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lincolnshire.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in dispatches.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1 He was awarded the Croix de Guerre.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Rifle Brigade and 5th Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1919.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1942.1 He held the office of Vice-Lord-Lieutenant of Lincolnshire in 1946.1

     Marjorie Elspeth Constable Curtis was the daughter of Charles Constable Curtis and Edith Fanny Onslow.2 She married Colonel Oliver Sutton-Nelthorpe, son of Major Robert Nassau Sutton-Nelthorpe and Hon. Dulcibella Eden, on 29 July 1914.1 She died in 1976.1
     From 29 July 1914, her married name became Sutton-Nelthorpe.
