     Joseph Sykes was born in 1760.1 He was the son of John Sykes and Hannah Womersley.2 He married Sarah Ibberson on 26 December 1793.1 He died on 10 October 1816, a 2nd son:.1

Benjamin Sykes1

     Benjamin Sykes was born on 27 September 1799.1 He was the son of Joseph Sykes and Sarah Ibberson.2 He married Harriet Wood in July 1821.1 He died on 9 January 1852 at age 52, with other issue:.1
     Kirkburton.1 He lived Burton Dean.1

     Sir Charles Sykes, 1st Bt. was born on 31 December 1867.1 He was the son of Benjamin Sykes and Rachel Carter.2 He married Mary Newsome, daughter of Benjamin Newsome, on 1 September 1892.1 He died on 16 November 1950 at age 82.1
     He was Justice of the Peace (J.P.) Huddersfield.1 He was educated National Sch Kirkheaton.1 He was Commander Order Leopold II Belgium.1 He was woollen mfr, chairman John Crowther and Sons, Dir Wool Textile Prodn, Chm Board of Control Worsted Woollen Trade WW I, Member of Parliament (M.P.) (C Lib) Huddersfield in 1918.1 He was Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.) in 1918.1 On 17 June 1921 so created.1 He was created 1st Baronet Sykes [U.K.] on 17 June 1921.1
