     Emily Vassar was the daughter of Jabez Vassar.2 She married Richard Tew Smith, son of Edward Smith, in 1852.1 She died.1
     She was whose ancestors included the founder of Vassar College in the US.1 Norfolk.1 Her married name became Smith. She lived Shipdam.1

     Sir Richard Vassar-Smith, 1st Bt. was born on 11 July 1843.1 He was the son of Richard Tew Smith and Emily Vassar.2 He married Mary Partridge, daughter of John Partridge, on 30 August 1866.1 He died on 2 August 1922 at age 79.1
     He was Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) Glos and Gloucester.1 He was Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He was Chartered Accountant (C.A.) Glos, Dep Grand Master and Provincial Grand Master Masons Glos and Herefs, chairman Lloyds Bank and Nat Provincial For Bank, dir: London and Rio Plate Bank, P&O For Banking Corporation and Yorkshire Penny Bank, Pres: Ct.1 He was Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) Bristol.1 He was also known as 1st Baronet (UK) [U.K. Life Peer].1 In 1883 roy licence.1 On 10 July 1917 so created.1

     He was also known as 2nd Baronet [U.K. Life Peer].1 He graduated in 1890 with a Cheltenham and Trin College Cambridge Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) ).1

     Charles Martin Vassar-Smith was born on 5 June 1881.1 He was the son of Sir Richard Vassar-Smith, 1st Bt. and Mary Partridge.2 He married Gladys Emmeline Rathborne, daughter of Colonel William Hans Rathborne and Bella Grace MacNeale, on 29 December 1908.1 He died on 25 November 1920 at age 39.1
     He was Major KSLI, Boer –02 (medal with four clasps), WW I (despatches) War 1901.1

     From 29 December 1908, her married name became Vassar-Smith.
