Rear Admiral Hon. Horace Lambert Alexander Hood was born on 2 October 1870.2 He was the son of Francis Wheler Hood, 4th Viscount Hood and Edith Lydia Drummond Ward.1 He married Ellen Touzalin, daughter of A. E. Touzalin, on 19 January 1910.2 He died on 31 May 1916 at age 45, killed in action.
He was Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.).2 He was Member, Royal Victorian Order (M.V.O.).2 He was Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.).2 He was joined Royal Navy , Sub-Lt 1889, Lieutenant 1890, Commander 1898, Captain 1903, R-Adml 1913, Captain RNC Osborne 1910–13, Aide-de-Camp to HM GEORGE V 1912–13, Naval Sec to 1st Lord Admlty 1914, Admiral cmdg Dover Patrol 1914 and 3rd Battle Cruiser in 1883.2 He fought in the Battle of Jutland on 31 May 1916.
