     Charles Waley Cohen was born on 26 September 1879.1 He was the son of Nathaniel Louis Cohen and Julia Matilda Waley.2 He married Ethel Alice Kisch, daughter of Hermann M Kisch, on 28 October 1910.1 He died on 16 January 1963 at age 83.1
     He was educated Clifton and Balliol College Oxford.1 He was barrister Inner Temple , memb Colonial Office Ctee of Emigrants Information Board 1904–10, Sec Select Ctee on Post Office Servants 1906–07 and 1912–13, Actg Judge High Court Karachi 1910–11, Lieutenant-Colonel WW I 1915–21 (despatches, Legion Hon) in 1903.1 He was Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1919.1
