     George Crichton Wells was born on 13 July 1914.1 He was the son of Sir Sydney Richard Wells, 1st Bt. and Mary Dorothy Maltby.2 He married Margaret Caroline Bruce, daughter of Dr. Lewis Campbell Bruce, on 10 October 1951.1 He died on 16 January 1999 at age 84.3
     He was Bedford Sch and Pembroke College Cambridge Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.) and Bachelor of Surgery (B.Ch.) ), Member, Royal College of Physicians, London (M.R.C.P.) London 1946, Fellow, Royal College of Physicians, London (F.R.C.P.) London 1959.1 He fought in the Second World War. He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Army Medical Corps.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal College of Physicians, London (F.R.C.P.)3
