     Benjamin Charles George Whitaker was born on 15 September 1934.1 He is the son of Sir John Albert Charles Whitaker, 2nd Bt. and Pamela Lucy Mary Snowden.2 He married Janet Alison Stewart, Baroness Whitaker, daughter of Alan Harrison Stewart and Ella Saunders, on 18 December 1964.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He graduated from New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the Coldstream Guards.1 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1959 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He wrote the book The Police, published 1964.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Labour) for Hampstead between 1966 and 1970.1 He wrote the book A Radical Future, published 1967.1 He wrote the book Crime and Society, published 1967.1 He wrote the book Participation and Poverty, published 1968.1 He wrote the book Parks for People
