     Lt.-Col. James Hackett was born circa 1636.1 He was the son of John Hackett and Catherine Lee.2 He married Catherine Butler, daughter of Thomas Butler.1 He died on 30 April 1716.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1689 in the Thomas Butler of Kilcash's Regiment of Infantry.1 He lived at Orchardstown, Clonmel, County Tipperary, Ireland.1
