     W/Cdr. Benjamin Henry Noel Hans Hamilton was born on 25 December 1882.1 He was the son of Henry Best Hans-Hamilton and Margaret Gordon Bond-Cabbell.2 He married, firstly, Ida Mortimer, daughter of Percy Mortimer, on 7 July 1906.1 He married, secondly, Vronwy Edwards, daughter of John Edwards, in March 1931.1 He died on 13 November 1969 at age 86.1
     W/Cdr. Benjamin Henry Noel Hans Hamilton usually went by his middle name of Noel.1 He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.1 He was educated at London University, London, England.1 He gained the rank of officer in the Royal Naval Air Service.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1 He was first to plot and track subs on radio wavelength, and to broadcast from France.1 In 1920 he raced 'Tweedledum' and 'Tweedledee' Peugeots at Brooklands.1 He gained the rank of Wing Commander in the Royal Air Force.1 He fought in the Second World War.1
