     Lt.-Col. Frederick Arthur Hamilton was born on 15 December 1880.1 He was the son of Charles Robert Hamilton and Louisa Caroline Elizabeth Brooke.2 He married Phyllis Addams Williams, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Sir Godfrey Williams, on 28 September 1911.1 He died on 8 February 1962 at age 81.1
     He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.3 He fought in the Boer War.1 He fought in the Third Afghan War.1 He gained the rank of officer in the 8th Bengal Lancers and QVO Corps of Guides Cavalry (Frontier Force.)1 First World War.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1919.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Geographical Society (F.R.G.S.)3 He retired from the military in 1930, with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, late of the Indian Army.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) in 1934.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) in 1936.1 He lived at Great Osbaston, Monmouthshire, WalesG.3
